Tecumseh's Jack Studnicka scored and Amherstburg's Michael DiPietro made 14 saves as Canada beat Switzerland 5-3 Wednesday night in Victoria, B.C. in a world junior pre-tournament game.
Maxime Comtois had two goals and two assists for Canada, who peppered Swiss goalie Luca Jan Hollenstein with 41 shots.
Canada spent much of the first and second periods in the Swiss zone with a sustained forecheck and extended periods of puck control, while the only goal in the third period was an empty-netter by Comtois.
Canada takes on Slovakia Friday night in another pre-tournament tune-up.
