The son of the man killed in a weekend crash in Lakeshore is remembering a dad who was always there for the family.
Armando Zilio's motorcycle was struck early Saturday morning on County Road 42 at Patillo Rd.
Sam Zilio says it was a difficult call to get hearing that his dad had been killed — he says he always looked up to his father who was a real outdoorsman.
"He was a great dude, he enjoyed hunting fishing, enjoyed riding his motorcycle worked at Ford for almost 30 years, pretty much 30 years," says Zilio. "He never missed a day, worked weekends, really enjoyed life and was always there whenever we needed him"
He says his mother Barbara is holding up, given what's happened — she lost her best friend and husband of 41 years.
"One bad decision resulted in multiple peoples live and families being affected," Zilio says. "Unfortunately our family is devastated with the loss of dad, but the other individual involved, their family and him they're devastated with what happened as well."
Jacob Cesare, 23, is charged with exceeding 80mg of blood alcohol content with a motor vehicle, causing an accident with fatality.
A celebration of the life of Armando Zilio will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on Howard Ave. Saturday afternoon.
