The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul location on Chilver Rd. is on the move.
General Manager Roseanne Winger says the Society Shoppe along with some offices are moving to 1245 Lauzon Rd. near Tranby Ave.
She says the move begins on Friday and some disruptions, such as phone lines being down, are expected.
"We're concerned because people are calling us for help so we don't want people to think that we disappeared on them," says Winger.
She says the move is happening because the society is trying to create efficiencies.
"In that location we'll be combining our offices and our Chilver store and warehouse location into that one location," says Winger. "So the offices are moving first. We're going to have to shut our first system down and then move over to the new location and bring the phones back up but we don't know the timeline on that so we might be out for the whole day."
Ringer says the new site on Lauzon Road will not be accepting donations until the end of October with the grand opening for the new location set for October 19th.
The society has called the Chilver Rd. location home for a number of years. The building caught fire in 2009.
A Society Shoppe is also located on King and Prince Road in west Windsor.
