Police are investigating gunfire in Windsor in what's being called a 'targeted incident.'
Officers were called just before midnight Thursday to a report of gunfire in the 1300-block of Ellrose Avenue.
When police arrived, they discovered fresh damage to the front window of a home at 1349 Ellrose but there were no injuries.
"From that investigation, which is in its initial stages, we have been able to confirm that the damage to the residence is consistent with a bullet hole," says Staff Sergeant Steve Betteridge.
Betteridge tells AM800 News they believe this is a 'targeted incident'...
"We do not believe this is a random act where somebody was just dangerously going along and firing a gun randomly," says Betteridge. "We have some information in the initial part of this investigation to make us believe that this is a targeted incident."
Betteridge adds the incident is a concern.
"Any time there is gunfire, that a concern for our entire community," admits Betteridge. "Luckily, what we have on this case so far is no injuries and our job is to do everything we can to locate the person responsible."
The Major Crimes Branch is investigating and has canvassed the neighbourhood looking for witnesses.
Officers are also reviewing surveillance video from the area.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Windsor Police.
