Windsor police are investigating a case of multiple vandalisms on school buses.
The buses had been parked on the lot of the former Windsor Raceway off Ojibway Parkway.
Officers were called to the site Sunday, March 17th around 10 am for a report of several buses being seriously damaged.
"Officers arrived and observed about 13 school buses with significant damage. The damage ranged from broken windows, windshields, lights and doors," says Windsor Police Constable Tayla Natyshak.
Police believe the damage was done between 10 a.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Natyshak admits it's a lot of damage.
Constable Natyshak admits it is a lot of damage.
"It is definitely significant damage to the school buses and obviously with 13, it is a large number, the cost of that is going to be significant."
Sharp Bus Line Shop Foreman Dale Minnett says at least 100 windows were damaged on the 13 buses.
He says clean-up began right away on Sunday and the company used some spare buses Monday morning for the bus routes.
"So we worked yesterday afternoon for about six to seven hours, sweeping and cleaning and replacing glass and using a few of our spares to keep all 13 routes rolling for today," says Minnett.
He estimates it will take 3 to 4 days to repair all the damaged buses and he doesn't have a dollar value on the damage.
He points out one window alone in the back door costs about $120.
Police are calling on the public for any information about the cause of the damage.
