A record year for the 2018 We Care for Kids Campaign as it raised $500,000, more than any previous year.
In 21 years of the campaign, it has raised in total $7.4-million for paediatric services in Windsor-Essex.
Jack Robson, 11, is a spokeskid for the campaign and was surprised by the total.
"I didn't think it would be anywhere close to that, I'm really surprised now that I see that. I think we did a lot of work this year and we did a great job."
Robson has been a spokeskid for the campaign since February 2017 and he moves on as a spokeskid alumni.
He says it has been a great experience.
"When I started, I didn't really know what I was doing but then as I started going to events, I realized that it is really making a difference."
We Care for Kids Campaign President Mike Brain says this year's total is overwhelming and he credits the kids for helping out.
A celebration luncheon Friday marked all the donations that came in, which ranged from $50 in a piggy bank to $100,000 from big galas.
