Windsor police are investigating a stabbing in the city's west end.

Police were called just before 8 a.m. Monday to the 300 block of Josephine between University Ave. West and Wyandotte St. where officers found a man suffering from stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators identified a suspect who was arrested around 8:30am in the 3100 block of Woodlawn Ave.

Several homes on Josephine are surrounded by police tape and evidence markers litter the sidewalk and street.

Police say the case is in the initial stages, and remains under active investigation by the Major Crimes Branch.
