2018 marked the 60th anniversary of the Ford Fireworks
The weather could not have been better for the 2018 edition of the Ford Fireworks.
To celebrate the show's 60th anniversary, organizers touted it as the "best show ever" with more bangs and booms packed into the 24 minute display than ever before.
Thousands took advantage of the clear skies and mild temperatures to take in North America's biggest fireworks show.

Windsor resident Jeff Sobocan says he hasn't missed a show in 30 years and says
"I like watching the fireworks. It's great to go see a show. I've been going ever since I've been a little kid. It's one of the bigger shows around town and it's good to see the reaction of everybody on the river and the noise when you're out on the river. It's fun to watch."

Tracey Greenwood rode her bike down to the show and says she wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
"It's fun, you know? We decided to drive part way and ride our bikes the rest of the way and it's beautiful and it's tradition. Everybody comes out for the fireworks. It'll be worth it. It'll be beautiful at our river. Anything at the river is awesome."

Andrew Sharp says it's all about tradition.
"We go every year. It's always a good time. A nice family event. A nice night out. It's something to do. It's the biggest fireworks show in all of North America right? So why miss it when we live right here? You get it once a year, so you can't miss it."
More than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects were used in this year's show along the Detroit River.
