Three tractor trailers were involved in the collision near a construction zone
Provincial police had to close a stretch of the 401 in Chatham-Kent following a fiery crash.
Traffic was stopped in the westbound lanes at a construction zone near Kenesserie Rd. around 3:15pm Wednesday.
Police say a tractor-trailer failed to stop and slammed into the rear of a stopped tractor trailer, causing it to collide with a third tractor trailer which then hit a vehicle.
The first and second trucks caught fire and sustained extensive damage.
One of the drivers was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police say charges are pending.
One westbound lane remains closed.
