There's going to be some short term pain for some long term gains at Jackson Park.
The next phase of park upgrades begin Tuesday morning, with the main parking lot off Tecumseh Rd. E. near Windsor Ave. getting a face lift from 45 to 100 spaces.
New sanitary, storm and water supply services are also being added, so work will continue until October.
The Tecumseh Rd. lot will remain closed, but use of the park shouldn't be affected, according to a release from the City of Windsor.
A lot off McDougall St. will remain open throughout construction for those looking for parking.
New washrooms along the entrance to the Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Gardens are also being installed while the lot is worked on.
Officials say that project should be completed by mid-August.
