A Toronto man has been arrested after an incident in Windsor.
Last Friday afternoon, a man entered the CanAm Currency Exchange on Dougall Ave — owner, Mike Piccioni says the man tried to cash a $25,000 cheque.
After money was issued to the man, $10,000 cash and $10,00 U.S. cheque, Piccioni got a call from the bank saying the the cheque was real but the person trying to cash it was not who he said he was.
The same man called the currency exchange later in the day to see if he could come back and cash the remainder of the cheque — Piccioni set up for him to come in after 6pm and notified police.
When the man entered the building and was being served, Piccioni approached the man from behind and tackled him to the ground.

"I was pretty jacked up before I went out there to confront him but at the same time I was nervous about my staff, they were a little nervous about the situation and having to serve him again, so I didn't really want to wait around for the police so I just thought I'd go out and handle it myself," says Piccioni.

He says he took action because he was nervous for his staff. Piccioni adds "We had been struggling for a while, fighting on the ground for a while, he was really trying his best and he was fighting really aggressively but at that point when the police got there he was pretty tired so they just handcuffed him and that was it."
Windsor police tell AM800 News the man has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and two counts of possession of identity documents intended to be used to commit an indictable offence.
