A Lakeshore teen has been sentenced to three years behind bars in a stabbing that killed a Windsor teen.
Austin Standon, 18, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault causing bodily harm.
He was originally charged as a youth, but it was agreed that he would be sentenced as an adult to serve time in a youth facility so his name is now public.
In July 2017, Standon was with friends in a wooded area in Belle River when a fight broke out with another group and 18-year old Marcus Pierce was stabbed three times and died.
Court heard there was a history between the groups and Pierce and his friends were looking for drugs with the intention of robbing them.
Pierce struck one of the teens in the face with a broken railway tie.
Pierce was stabbed three times; once in the upper torso and twice in the buttocks.

Standon's lawyer Pat Ducharme says his client was minding his own business.
"Trouble came looking for him rather than him looking for trouble," says Ducharme.
Ducharme says his client is satisfied with the end result and accepted that he had to be punished.
Ducharme says Standon addressed Pierce's family in court.
"He is remorseful so he understands their anger and he says he will never forget this day the rest of his life, even though he was in circumstances where someone was trying to rob him, he should not have taken a life and he will live with this for the rest of his life."
In handing down his sentence, Justice Bruce Thomas said, 'The level of Austin Standon's moral blameworthiness is lessened by the fact that he did not go looking for trouble."
The Lakeshore youth was scheduled for a trial before a jury in September 2019
Standon will be given credit for time already served and Ducharme believes he will apply for parole in 7.5-months.
