The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) has issued a Flood Warning for the Town of Kingsville.
ERCA sites the record high water level in Lake Erie coupled with a relatively mild northeast wind and says Cedar Creek has overtopped its banks at the downstream reaches of the watercourse and flooded the portion of County Road 50 (Heritage Road) between County Road 23 (Arner Townline) and the Cedar Creek Bridge.
According to a release from the town, Heritage Rd. has reopened but motorists are advised to use caution because standing water remains on portions of the road.
In addition to the Flood Warning, the remainder of the Essex Region shoreline remains under a Flood Watch due to the record high lake levels until July 16 2019.
With record high lake levels, areas that may be potentially impacted can vary from day-to-day based on wind speed and direction.
