The final youth accused in a violent beating near Herman High School last fall has admitted his guilt.
The teen - who can't be named under the Youth Justice Act - entered a guilty plea to a charge of aggravated assault.
Another charge of assault was dropped.
On September 12, 2018 then 14-year-old Jayden Trudell was attacked from behind without provocation.
He was picked up by the teen who pled guilty today and dropped on his head.
While unconscious that teen and another kicked and punched him in the head.
Trudell was rushed to London hospital for treatment of a life-threatening head injury.
The victim's grandfather, Kevin Trudell, says the court needs to send a message about this extremely violent attack.
"Here's going to be a perfect opportunity to send a message to the public, and as you saw by the people who were here today there weren't as many as last time. But people are tired. They almost killed Jayden, plain and fact you can say what you want but they almost beat him to death. It wasn't like he was lying on the ground unconscious, they still proceeded to beat him more."
Kevin Trudell, says a slap on the wrist is not appropriate in this case.
"This was a very violent act and if these kids were adults right now they'd be going to jail for years not months. So the courts need to send a messagethat our kids, like the judge said school is a safe zone."
Sentencencing is set for June 25, the same day the other two youths who pled guilty in the attack will be sentenced.
