Highway 3 has buckled due to extreme heat, again.
That makes it six separate incidents since this time last year and just two weeks since the last incident on July 1. A crew could be seen clearing the rubble and smoothing out a section of the westbound lanes between Manning and Malden Rd. Monday night well into the evening.
Essex Deputy Mayor Richard Meloche sits on county council. Meloche says blaming temperatures is becoming more of an excuse than a reason.
"I know we've had some extreme heat, but even with extreme heat, come on? They've got to get in there and get it fixed and hopefully this happening once again will get back to the MTO and they can do something rather quickly," he says. "The province has got to come in and do it right. We're going to end up having an accident there over this and it's just ridiculous that we have to continuously go back to the province and say hey, what's going on here?"
