It's not everyday that someone gets to celebrate four decades in the same career.
Lynn Martin, host of the Lynn Martin Show on AM800, is marking her 40th anniversary in radio today.
She graduated from advertising and marketing at St.Clair College and had no aspirations to go on-air.
"I went out to California for a little bit and wanted to do something out there and came home because I was home sick," she says. "A job came up here producing for Neil Thomas and Wayne McLean at the time."
She says she never wanted to be on-air, until her boss at the time, forced her to do it.
"I had no aspirations to go on the air at all, I was a behind-the-scenes girl and they needed somebody to do traffic in the morning and he said, 'you will do this', and I replied I' didn't want to, I'm not an on-the-air kind of girl' and he said 'you will do this or you will be gone' and I said ok, I guess I will."
She says it's crazy that it has been 40 years.
"Thank you guys for putting up with me for all these years," she joked.
Martin remembers the day when people would smoke while being on-air.
She credits her callers for the show being a success.
