Adam Henrique set-up Cam Fowler just 36 seconds into the extra frame as the Ducks beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2.
Fowler's third goal of the game marks his first career hat trick in the NHL.
John Gibson logged 24 saves for the Ducks while Joonas Korpisalo stopped 27 shots for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped three of their last four games.
