The cause is listed as undetermined after a fire at the historic Olde Walkerville Theatre.

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services were called to Wyandotte St. E. near Gladstone Ave. at around 3:30pm Saturday for a report of thick black smoke coming out the front entrance of the building.

Nola's restaurant is next door to the theatre, co-owner Chris Mickle tells AM800 News a pedestrian came into and reported the smoke; staff went outside to investigate and immediately called 911.

Deputy Chief of Operations James Waffle says damage is estimated at $15,000, but looks far worse than it is.

No injuries are reported and fire officials say the theatre will remain open.

Wyandotte St. E. was closed between Gladstone Ave. and Lincoln Rd. for several hours.
