Sheila Frappier lives five doors down from the unit that was on fire and heard the alarm.
"Sirens and fire alarm, the dog was barking and howling. I got up and went out on my balcony and I could see the fire," she says. "I couldn't come out in the hallway because there was too much smoke and I could taste it in my apartment, I waited until they cleared the smoke with this big machine, I took this [a wet cloth] and put it over my mouth and ran down stairs."
She says she wasn't scared but admits to "being pissed off" because this is the second fire in the building in the last several years.
There is no word on the estimate of damage.
