Public elementary school teachers in Ontario are another step closer to walking off the job.
The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario or ETFO has received a 'no board report' which paves the way for teachers to be in a legal strike position the last week of November.
ETFO President Sam Hammond says the union is fighting for investments, not cuts.
The 'no board report' means teachers are legally able to strike 17 days from now starting November 25th
Hammond hopes the report pushes the government to 'get serious about contract talks.'
Teachers in Ontario voted 98% in favour of strike action.
There are 1,500 elementary and occasional teachers in Windsor-Essex working at the Greater Essex County District School Board.
