A successful return to Windsor for the Dragons Boats for the Cure Festival.
Nearly 600 people from 21 teams took part in the 15th annual event, which was held last year at Lakewood Park in Tecumseh.
The park just east of the Sand Point Beach was the gathering spot for this year's event, raising money in support of breast cancer research and care in Windsor-Essex.
Jo-Ann Towers beat breast cancer 17 years ago. "I've been with the Wonderbras for 11 years. We've been doing paddling since then and I love it. It's great exercise and you meet all kinds of new people, and being with this group, Bobbing for Boobies, it's even better."
"The event is a ton of fun but the cause is what's really important," says Towers. "Yes, this is good. It's helps everybody with breast cancer, male and female, kids too. The more we can find a cure for everything would be great, not only for breast cancer, but for cancer in general."
The Dragon Boat Festival has raised more than $3.4-million over the past 15 years.
