A plea to Windsor city councillors from the former CAW National President appears to have fallen on deaf ears.
Ken Lewenza addressed city council Monday night to speak out against a proposal to outsource jobs at the Huron Lodge long-term care facility.
Lewenza even challenged council to wait until the next municipal election and campaign on the issue of outsourcing. "If you decide that outsourcing is the way to go then hold off until the next municipal election, which is a year away. Having the decency to say I will campaign against good jobs in our community."
The next municipal election is set for Monday, October 22nd, 2018.
In the end, council voted 6-5 in favour of a motion to outsource the jobs.
