The school opened its doors to showcase the diversity of its student population
It was standing room only at the 4th annual Westview Freedom Academy Multicultural Festival in west Windsor.
The school on California Ave. near Tecumseh Rd. W. opened its doors for students, families and the community to showcase and celebrate the many nations, background and experiences.
A talent show type event featured 19 different acts from Bollywood Dancing to musical performances, African dancing and a fashion show.
Jamie, whose son attends the school, calls it a special community. "It really highlights the importance of multiculturalism within Canada and what we have. It's like the United Nations here, it's great," he says.
Westview Freedom Academy was formed four years ago when J.L. Forster Secondary School and Century High School came together on the Century site.
