Boys vs Girls is being filmed at Sunshine Point Camp in Harrow
Going back to the 90's is easy for comedians Colin Mochrie, most notably from Who's Line is it Anyways? and Kevin McDonald of Kids in the Hall fame.
They revisit 1990 on the set of their latest movie "Boys vs Girls", which just started filming at Sunshine Point Camp in Harrow.
Mochrie — who plays the camp's director — tells CTV Windsor News the '90s were good to him.
"The 90s were very good for me. That's when my daughter was born. It was when whose line started happening for me, so I have a very soft spot in my heart for the 90's."
McDonald plays the camp's caretaker.
Although Macdonald has worked regularly with cameos on some big name sitcoms like That '70s Show and on the big screen, the '90's were also when Kids in the Hall was at its peak.
"1990 I was 29, I was in the second year of the TV show - I'm not bragging, I am screaming though - so yeah I got to pretend it's 1980."
Both actors have worked together in the past, which worked out well for University of Windsor graduate Michael Stasko.
The writer and director of the film says he was lucky to add the veteran comedians.
"I got yeses right off the bat with those two guys and for Canada these are heavyweights. How many laughs per second can I fit in, pure comedy, jokes from beginning to end for 90 minutes."
Stasko says the film is loosely-based on a summer camp he went to that went coed in 1990.
Many University of Windsor students are part of the 40-person crew, and 20 actors make up the mostly-young cast.
The film is expected to be released by next spring or summer.
