It was a hot one, but that didn't stop thousands of residents from making their way down to this year's Canada Day Parade.

The parade returned to the downtown core for the first time in several years — this year departing from Ouellette Ave and Giles Blvd. - last year's parade kicked off in Walkerville before making its way to festival plaza.

Cake Cutting took place at 1pm at Festival Plaza.

Steve Good Time-Street Performances ran on Ouellette Ave at Pitt St. from 12:30pm to 1:45pm.
