Spitfires General Manager Warren Rychel shares the frustrations of his coach about the officiating in yesterday's game two loss to the Knights in London.
Rocky Thompson was candid in his post-game comments to CTV London.
"Every time there was the slightest amount of contact with the London Knights they dove and they got rewarded for it," says Thompson. They invented it (diving) here (London) — they're the best — and obviously they're getting rewarded for it so it's unfortunate because it's a shame to the game and it's an embarrassement and all it's doing is these guys will get fined when they move up to the next level (NHL) if they can."
Rychel tells AM800 Sports he's glad the game was nationally televised so the entire country could see what went on.
"You know hopefully we'll get the calls as long as it's even we're happy with that," says Rychel. "But yesterday was craziness to go through that and I feel upset for our players as they played so hard and didn't deserve that. It's always them (London) — they always get the favouritism — they always get the calls and look no further than the penalities yesterday."
