A 16-year-old boy struck by a vehicle, allegedly driven by his LaSalle mother, over the weekend is improving in the hospital.
He is now out of the Intensive Care Unit and is listed in serious condition.
On Saturday, December 1st, police were called to an east end restaurant for a reported assault where a 33-year-old woman claimed she was assaulted by the 16-year-old.
No official statement was provided to police but then 20 minutes later, police were called to Hawthorne Dr. where a vehicle had jumped the curb and struck the 16-year-old, pinning him against a building.
The woman and boy are mother and son.
The driver, 33-year-old Maria Chouinard of LaSalle, is charged with attempted murder and appears in court December 4th.
