It's going to be extremely hot this weekend across Windsor-Essex.
Environment Canada is forecasting temperatures in the low to mid-30's but with the humidex factored in, it's going to be even hotter.
The forecast for Saturday is a high of 31 Celsius but feeling like 38C with the humidex. It will heat up even more on Sunday with a high of 35C with the potential of a humidex reading of 40C.
It's all due to a warm front coming up from the U.S. southwest.
Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Peter Kimbell says the heat on Sunday will be at least tying and if not breaking a record for the 17th of June.
"it's going to be very muggy on Saturday and Sunday," says Kimbell. "Probably be above 40C with the humidex, so extremely muggy conditions, the hottest weather we've seen this year. We did get up to 33.5C at the end of May but we'll be above that at least on Sunday, if not Monday as well."
The record high for June 16th in Windsor-Essex is 35.6C set in 1952.
The record high for June 17th is 34.1C set in 1994.
