The President of the University of Windsor is expressing confidence in the University of Windsor Student Alliance.
The group has lost two presidents since early May. Moussa Hamadani was disqualified for an inappropriate comment made at a public debate. Larissa Howlett lasted just 17 days before the board voted to remove her from office over alleged bylaw infractions. Howlett is now considering legal action to have her dismissal overturned.
Dr. Alan Wildeman says he's confident the Alliance will eventually get its house in order. "From the standpoint of the university, we'll continue to work with our student bodies. Whether it's undergraduate, graduate, or part-time. The channels are always open and we're here to support all of our students."
Wildeman tells AM800 News he's been in contact with the UWSA. "I only know what's in the public statements they've made and they've confirmed that with me in person when I met with them. So we'll continue to work with who's there and any more details of what their plans are visa vie, by-election and so on, so it's best to speak to them about it."
Calls to the UWSA by AM800 News have not been returned.
