The University of Windsor has recognized FCA Canada as the 2019 Co-op/Internship Employer of the Year.
More than 540 students have been placed at the FCA research and development centre since 1996, leading to recognition from the university's Co-op, Career and Employment Services department.
Jacqueline Oliva is Head of Human Resources for FCA Canada.
"It's great to have these students involved," says Oliva. "The placements are not only great for the students but also for our staff that work with these students because they bring a fresh prospective to our workplace and it's much appreciated by everyone."
She says there are employment opportunities for the students after their placements.
"We have hired many of these co-op students," says Oliva. "So once they complete their university education and we've had openings, they've eventually been hired on."
The automaker says 18 engineering co-op students recently participated in placements at the Windsor Assembly Plant within the vehicle production quality department.
FCA Canada will be showcased on Nov. 9 on the university's Co-op, Career and Employment Services social media pages.
