The University of Windsor has landed on the Times Higher Education University Rankings for the second straight year.
Windsor is one of only 26 universities out of 96 to make the cut nation-wide, and only 1,000 schools out of the 20,000 are ranked world-wide.
President Alan Wildeman says the rankings take everything into account.
"They look at where our students are coming from they look at some of the attributes of the university, they look at some of the research that's going on. So it's a whole basket of things they look at," he says. "Within Canada there's only 26 universities that made it on to the list so we're pleased to be among that group."
Diversity and location are high on the university's list of attributes, according to Wildeman.
"An affirmation that the University of Windsor is a great place to come and study," he says. "Certainly we have a lot of international students and students from around the world will see this."
He tells AM800 News making the list a second time proves the school belongs among the best in the world, Windsor made the list for the first time in 2017.
"Getting on to it last year, I wouldn't say it was a fluke," says Wildeman. "I think the staff at the university and students have been doing a lot of really hard work over the years. Everything in life is some combination of good-fortune and hard work."
Windsor sits in the middle of the pack on for the 2018 The World University Rankings.
