Nearly 1,200 graduates will make their way on to the stage for the University of Windsor's 110th Convocation ceremony Saturday.
Faculty of Nursing and Experiential Learning Specialist Judy Bornais will be speaking at 10am; she recently received a 3M National Teaching Fellowship.
The University will also award an honorary degree to Francis Plummer - expert in medical microbiology and community health sciences from the University of Manitoba.
Plummer is internationally known for his work in public health and science, publishing articles on HIV and AIDS that have changed policies worldwide. He also oversaw the development of the VSV-Ebov vaccine and ZMapp, the first effective treatment for Ebola virus infection in West Africa back in 2015.
He has also been appointed Officer of the Order of Canada, the Order of Manitoba, and received a grant from the Grand Challenges in Global Health initiatives of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for his HIV research.
Convocation ceremonies begin at the St. Denis Centre from 10am to 3pm.
