The Windsor-Essex County Humane Society hasn't received any formal complaints following a float in this year's Canada Day parade that contained live sheep.
But Executive Director Melanie Coulter says it is looking into it but doesn't expect to find any violations of the legal standard.
The issue was raised after a concern was posted on Facebook about sheep in a float, when it was hot outside and there was loud music.

Coulter admits there has been a lot of hype over the issue. "It seems like it was one of those things that people will see an animal and they will think why is that animal there, is it adding to the float or will it encourage me to go to the business and probably think there is no need to put that animal through the stress."
The float by the Shepherd's Guide, a Christian phone business directory, was 14 feet by 10 feet. Its publisher, Dave Szusz says they are in 23 parades and provide the animals with food, water and shade.
Szusz says there has never been a problem before.
