A Windsor judge has granted a court injunction to stop long delays for Catholic teachers, caused by striking workers.
The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board argued the injunction was necessary "because irreparable harm was being caused to student's education."
Justice Kirk Munroe agreed and ruled that pickets could delay teachers for a maximum of one minute from 7:30am until 20 minutes before classes start.
Before 7:30am, there will be a maximum of a five minute delay.
However, pickets will be allowed to delay teachers from leaving school at the end of the day for a maximum of three minutes.
Unifor local 2458 President Bruce Dickie says they will abide by the ruling saying "we are going to continue our constitutional right to picket within the judge's order, we hope the school board heard the judge was clear that the parties should be at the bargaining table."
