Woods has not played in a tournament since February and recently had fusion surgery on his back even posting last week that "I want to say unequivocally, I want to play professional golf again."
Woods has issued a statement saying he wants the public to know that alcohol was not involved.
"I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly. I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and fans. I expect more from myself too."
He goes on to say that he will ensure this never happens again and that he fully cooperated with law enforcement.
