Senegal is now tied for the Group H lead with Japan

Senegal became the first African team to win at this year's World Cup.

They defeated Poland 2-1 and are now tied tied for the Group H lead with Japan, which upset Colombia 2-1 earlier today.

Senegal is returning to the World Cup for the first time since a thrilling run to the quarterfinals on its tournament debut in Japan and South Korea in 2002.

The team is Africa's last chance of getting a win in the first volley of games at the World Cup.
