Windsor police are investigating after a body was found in an alley near the downtown core.
The Major Crimes Unit is on the scene in the 900-block of Church St., not far from Erie St., after officers were called just shortly after 7am Wednesday.
At this time police will only say a man is deceased and they're not sure if the death is 'suspicious' in nature.
"Too early to say for that," says Windsor Police Sergeant Steve Betteridge. "That is all part of the investigation and it is very much in its initial stages, so methodically, step by step, we are will go through this investigation."

George, who did not want to give his last name, found the body.
"I woke up this morning, walked down the alley to get to my truck and noticed the body laying to the left of the alley, motionless with blood and trauma to the head and I just backed away and called 911," he says.
He says he is shaken by the discovery saying he didn't hear anything suspicious overnight. He estimates the victim to be in his 20s.
Neighbour Jim Tilley says his wife heard something around 12:30am that sounded like a gunshot.
"I said yeah it is not a gunshot, but then we see all the cars out here when we got up this morning, not this many they just started arriving," he says. "I said oh it is just a dead body from the gunshot and it turns out it was, I never expected that."
Windsor police are not confirming any details.
