Former Windsor Spitfire Ben Johnson's bail application has been granted.
He has appealed his conviction before the Ontario Court of Appeal and had a bail hearing today in Toronto.
He is appealing the conviction handed down by Justice Kirk Munroe in September which found him guilty of sexual assault.
Following a trial, the judge found Johnson guilty of sexually assaulting a 16-year old girl in the washroom at the former Mynt Nightclub in March 2013.
He was sentenced exactly a week ago to three-years in prison.
