Windsor police are investigating a stabbing in the city's west side believed to be over a piece of jewellery.
Around 8:30pm on Tuesday, officers were called to the area of Wyandotte St. W and Church St. where police were told by witnesses someone could be heard in distress.
Officers were able to find a man suffering from a serious stab wound and a woman with minor injuries in the area.
The man was taken to hospital with what police describe as life-threatening injuries.
Police report the victims had arranged to meet another man and woman known to them to steal a piece of jewellery. However, the suspects grabbed the goods and tried to take off but, a fight broke out between the parties.
That left a man and woman with injuries while the suspects were able to get away.
