Update: Wanted federal offender arrested

A federal offender who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and known to frequent several communities in southwestern Ontario has been arrested.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad says Edward Seery, 45, was taken into custody in Simcoe. No further details about the arrest were immediately released.

Seery had been wanted for breaching his statutory release while serving a three-year sentence for possession of a Schedule I or II substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He was known to frequent London, Windsor and Cambridge, as well as Cayuga, Delhi, Simcoe, Hamilton and Six Nations.

Police had previously asked the public for help locating him.
