The search was suspended after more than three hours of scouring the river
Police called off the search for a man who disappeared after being witnessed swimming across the Detroit River Friday.
According to Windsor Police Service, calls began to come in reporting a man in dark clothing seen swimming across the river near Peche Island around 6pm.
Police say the man was again spotted close to Lakeview Marina a few minutes later — several boaters attempted to call out to the man but he was, "unresponsive."
