After 42-days a tentative deal has been reached between Unifor Local 444 and Caesars Windsor.
The agreement was signed around 1:30am Thursday morning and Unifor Local 444 incoming President Dave Cassidy says the bargaining committee fully endorses the deal.
The ratification vote is now set for the WFCU Centre Friday morning at 10 am.
"Our committee supports it 100%. When we get a tentative put in place, we make sure we go around and everybody is on board with it and everybody unanimously supports this collective agreement," he says. "The company came back and they also wanted to get back, so this bargaining committee has worked very hard. I came in late since I've taken over as president and they've kept me abreast on everything. We pushed, we pushed, and we were able to get a tentative."
Cassidy tells AM800 News the union has not confirmed when the ratification vote will happen.
"When we get the time set up for the actual ratification we're going to work on those logistics first thing in the morning once places open up," he says. "But in the mean time, they need to stay on the line and then we will bring the appropriate people in when the ratification time is so to relieve them off the line."
More than 2,100 workers went on strike on April 6 after rejecting a three year deal by a 59% margin.
That deal had included wage increases, a signing bonus, increase in pension contributions and improved job security for restaurant workers.
In 2004 employees hit the picket lines for six weeks.
