Two people have been taken to hospital after being extracted from a car that went into Colchester Harbour.
The OPP received a call around 9:30am Tuesday and were on scene in minutes.
Mike Drexler of Drexler Diving Systems heard sirens for some time and went to see what was going on at the harbour.
"We chose to go down to see what was happening and we also saw a U.S. Coast Guard Dolphin helicopter fly overhead and commence what looked to be a shoreline search so upon getting to the bluff at the harbour we could see several emergency vehicles, police fire, EMS, Kingsville Fire was there."
Drexler can't say what the status of the people in the car is.
"I can't really speculate, but being from the time I heard the sirens to the time I saw them extricated there was a fairly long time, so I'm not going to speculate."
OPP Constable Jim Root says they are still very early in their investigation.
"At about 9:30 this morning we were called to the Colchester Harbour where a vehicle had entered the water from the boat launch area. Since then two people have been removed from that vehicle and taken to an area hospital"
He also can't indicate if they were local residents.
One witness described the vehicle as a grey sedan.
