Law enforcement officials in the U.S have made an arrest following a rash of pipe bomb scares.
Cesar Sayoc, 56, of Aventura, Florida has been detained and has now been formally charged.
Justice Department officials announced five federal charges against Sayoc, and revealed that DNA and a fingerprint found on a package helped them identify the suspect after a five-day investigation that heightened unease with each additional explosive discovery.
In the past few days, several Democratic officials including former President Barack Obama, former Vice-President Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton have been targeted along with Democratic supporters, receiving 13 suspicious packages.
Authorities in the U.S were seen examining a white van with its windows covered in a variety of stickers with images of American flags, and what appeared to be logos of Republican National Committee and CNN.
