Windsor police have arrested a suspect in connection with a string of six robberies in a four-hour early Monday morning.
Police say more information will be released Tuesday
Sergeant Steve Betteridge says the first of six robberies happened at a convenience store.
"Just a little before midnight patrol officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the 900-block of Ouellette,” he says. “Male had entered the store brandishing a blunt object and demanded money. He fled on foot with a quantity of cash."
The blunt object is described as a club or a stick.
Betteridge says five more similar robberies by the same suspect were called in to police after that.
"800-block of Campbell, 400-block of Tecumseh Road East, then a convenience store that's connected with a restaurant had two robberies there in the 1300-block of Walker Road. And the last one was at the 2200-block of Wyandotte Street East at about 4 am."
Betteridge says this is highly unusual.
An arrest was made late Monday afternoon.
