Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will address the nation this afternoon to update Canadians on what's being done to slow down the COVID-19 outbreak.
According to CTV News, Trudeau will announce some international flights will be rerouted to Montreal, Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver.
AM800 will carry the prime minister's news conference live at 1 p.m.
Cabinet ministers leaving a meeting in Ottawa Sunday promised big action, but didn't elaborate.
Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada's top public health official, is warning that COVID-19 has become "a serious health threat."
She says people must stay home in an effort to "social distance," to prevent the virus from spreading so fast that health-care facilities are overwhelmed.
Tam also says that Canadians returning from trips abroad should immediately go into self-isolation for 14 days rather than simply self-monitoring.
