A body has been recovered from the Detroit River.
The Windsor police marine unit brought the body back to the main land from Peche Island after it was discovered near the shoreline Monday afternoon.
A search involving the Windsor police, a U.S. Coast Guard chopper, the RCMP, the Windsor Port Authority and law enforcement from Detroit turned up nothing and efforts were called off at around 9pm due to poor weather conditions.
Authorities believe the body found is that of the man who disappeared in the water and are asking for the public's help in identify him.
The man is described as 35 to 50-years-old standing 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 10 and weighing 170 pounds. .
He has olive/brown skin tone, a medium build, dark shoulder length hair and a full dark beard.
Police say he was wearing a "Denim And Flower" brand short sleeve button down shirt in a size large, dark coloured jeans, size 10 black and brown Nike high-top shoes and a necklace with a "Buddha" pendant attached.
The man's death is not believed to be suspicious.
