A boatcrash involving alcohol in Belle River has twopeople hospitalized, and police looking for witnesses

A boat-crash involving alchohol in Belle River has two-people hopitalized, and OPP looking for witnesses.

Police reported an 18ft fishing-boat hit the break wall at high speeds in the Belle River Marina on Lake St. Clair around 4:20pm Saturday.

A 31-year-old Cambridge, Ont. woman was ejected from the boat and taken to hospital with serious injures, according to police.

Investigators say a 34-year-old Caledonia, Ont. man has been charged with Dangerous Operation Of A Vessel Causing Bodily Harm, and Operating a Vessel Over 80mg of Alcohol In Blood Causing Bodily Harm.

The extent of his injuries have not been released, but OPP say more information will become available as the investigation continues.
