Police have release the name of the man killed in a crash that closed the 401 in Tilbury Friday morning

The OPP say around 6:55am, the driver of a westbound transport truck lost control and crossed the centre median and struck an eastbound transport truck. The area is a two-lane highway in both directions with a gravel centre median.

Forty-four-year-old Alaa Issa of Windsor is dead after his westbound tractor trailer lost control crossing the center median colliding with an eastbound tractor trailer.

The other male driver is currently in a London Hospital and listed in critical condition.

Chatham-Kent OPP Constable Jay Denorer says the investigation will take some time.

"Our technical collision investigators are on scene right now and they are examining the scene," he says.  "As soon as we can open the westbound lanes, we will get that lane open."

Denorer says drivers need to be patient and go slow in the area as there are long line-up of vehicles in the detour area.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes  of the 401 from Queen's Line to County Rd 42 were closed until 9:30pm while OPP investigated the scene.
