Shocking images from a pileup on Highway 400 near Barrie.
Officials are now saying more than 70 vehicles were involved in the crash which closed the highway in both directions.
Firefighters could be see standing on vehicles to try and make sure people are safe.
Strong winds, heavy snow and blowing snow caused near zero visibility for drivers and rescue crews during the ordeal.
The OPP says several people suffered minor injuries and the Jaws of Life were used to pry some vehicles apart.
Officials with the Barrie fire department say a 500-litre diesel spill caused by the crash is under control.
